Penn Football: Origins to 1901 Penn Teams 1876 University Team

Summary

This was the first year in which the University of Pennsylvania played intercollegiate football. There was no point-based scoring system in place. This team was had no coach; students alone were responsible for the existence of the team and for all fundraising, scheduling, training and strategies on the field.
