These lists were compiled from hand-written ledgers by John C. Parker, Project Cataloger, College of Physicians. The information is drawn from three matriculation books located in the University Archives:
- Medical Matriculation Book, 1806-January 4, 1816 (UPA 3 Pre-1820, document #1571)
- Matriculation Book commenced 1816 ended 1834 (UPA 3 Pre-1820, document #1576)
- Matriculation Book, Medical, 1834-1850 (UPC 2.7, document #12)
Key
- year of attendance indicates the final year of the academic year, i.e. 1825 refers to the 1824-1825 academic year
- number enclosed in parentheses after the year of attendance is a a simple sequential number assigned to each student for a particular academic year. The first student listed in the matriculation for a particular year is “1”, the next is “2” and so on
- $ indicates the matriculant earned the M.D. degree
- d indicates the matriculant died
- co and nco are believed to indicate commissioned and non-commissioned military officers
