The Dorris Anne D. Younger Scrapbooks were donated by her sister, Christine Hill Killough in March 2014 (Accession Number: 2014:010).

BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Doris Anne D. Younger entered the University of Pennsylvania in 1942. During her time at Penn she attended the University’s Green Lane camp, was active in various organizations – most notably the Christian Association. She graduated with a B. S. in Education in 1946. After Penn Younger attended the Philadelphia School of Occupational Therapy, The Divinity School of Yale University (M. Div 1950), and the New York Theological Seminary (D. Min. 1978). While at Yale she met George D. Younger, and the two later married.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Doris Anne D. Younger Scrapbooks document her time as a student at the University of Pennsylvania from 1942 – 1946, including her time at University Camp at Green Lane. The scrapbooks also include material related to her employment by the Brown Instrument Company in Philadelphia during World War II, and Philadelphia related events of the time. The scrapbooks include, photographs, newspaper clippings, and other forms of memorabilia.
