BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

William Dennis Marks was an engineer and educator. He was on the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania Towne School from 1877-1889 as Professor of Dynamic Engineering. Marks also served as superintendent of the International Electric Exhibition in 1884, and was president and chief engineer of the Edison Electric Light Company of Philadelphia from 1892-1896.
