Record Series TitleTransitory Records
Record Series DescriptionTransitory information consists of records created or received in the course of university business that are temporary, routine, and of short‑term informational value, and that do not document institutional decisions, policies, actions, approvals, academic outcomes, or obligations. These records are maintained solely for convenience, reference, or coordination and have no continuing administrative, legal, fiscal, academic, or historical value once their immediate purpose has been served. Transitory information is not the official record and does not replace or supplement records retained in an authorized system of record. Records may include routine notifications, meeting invitations, scheduling correspondence, transmittal messages, duplicate or convenience copies, preliminary drafts not used to support a decision, temporary reference materials, and other records of short-term administrative value.
